Hey Baby!
The session not to be missed - the Newborn Session.
These Sessions divide into two parts:
Baby's 5days - 30 days old - This is the traditional "newborn" Session, full of those curled up, sleepy photos.
1 month to 2 months old - These are classed as "older newborns". We still capture stunning images at this age, just some babies may want to stretch out more and not be as sleepy.
3-6 months old - These are what we call "bouncing baby" sessions. As the name implies, they move around a lot more! So these are not the typically sleepy newborn images but they really are something wonderful, especially if the earlier stage was missed! This could include tummy time and those first smiles!

Frequently Asked Questions
The best time to book your newborn photoshoot is during your pregnancy, ideally after your 20-week scan. This allows us to reserve space around your due date and ensures we can photograph your baby during those precious first few weeks of life. The Photoshoot itself ideally needs to be the first 3 weeks. We can also capture beautiful sessions of older babies too, they are just less curled up and sleepy.
For those beautifully sleepy, curled-up newborn portraits, we recommend photographing your baby within the first 21 days after birth. However, every baby is different, and we can still create beautiful images if your little one is a little older. If they are older than 8 weeks, they would be a "older baby" Session.
Don't worry—babies rarely arrive exactly on time! We reserve your session around your due date and simply adjust the appointment once your little one has arrived. Let us know as soon as little one arrives so we can plan with you accordingly.
Newborn sessions typically last up to three hours. This allows plenty of time for feeding, changing, cuddles and settling your baby, ensuring the experience is completely relaxed and led by your little one.
Newborn Sessions only take place at our studios, we do not offer home or hospital visits. This is for the comfort and safety of your baby and you!
Absolutely - when it is done correctly. Your baby's comfort and safety are always our highest priority. Every pose is completed gently and naturally, and we never force babies into positions they're uncomfortable with. The Photography industry is unregulated however we ensure all Tiny Adventure Studios are trained to work safely and patiently with newborns at all times, with enhanced training, pediatric first aid training and DBS check. This is one of the reasons our clients choose us over others.
There's very little you need to bring. We recommend bringing extra milk if bottle feeding, plenty of nappies and anything your baby finds comforting, such as a dummy if they use one. We'll take care of everything else.
We will chat in your pre session phone consultation about family photos and what to bring/wear. This are, without a doubt always the photos families love so we highly recommend capturing them!
Absolutely. Some of the most treasured photographs are those of your family together. Parents and brothers or sisters are warmly encouraged to be part of your newborn session at no additional charge - you can even bring the grandparents & the family dog!
Please don't worry—it's one of the most common concerns we hear, and honestly, it's never a problem! Children aren't expected to sit perfectly still or smile on command. In fact, some of our favourite photographs come from natural play, cuddles, giggles and genuine family interactions.
Our photographers work at your children's pace, keeping the session relaxed, fun and completely pressure-free. Whether your little one is shy, full of energy or simply having an off day, we'll adapt the session to capture beautiful, authentic moments that truly reflect your family.
If for any reason your newborn really needs to reschedule, we can do so but we will be honest, it rarely ever happens!
Once your images have been professionally edited, you'll be invited back to the studio for your private cinematic viewing. This is where you'll enjoy your gallery for the first time and choose the digital collection, wall art, albums or keepsakes that are perfect for your family.
