Are you expecting? Congratulations! This is one of the most exciting times of your life, and you will want to capture every moment of it. One of the best ways to do this is by booking a newborn photoshoot. However, it is essential to book in advance to ensure that you get the best experience possible.
Booking your newborn photoshoot early is key for several reasons. Firstly, it allows you to secure us as your photographer. We do have limited availability, especially during peak seasons, so booking early guarantees that you won't miss out.
Clients book us from around their 12 weeks scan
Our newborn sessions are 3 hours long and they are a baby led experience. Due to this we only take on a certain number of booking per month, so it is really important to reserve your spot early. Many of our clients book us around the time they have their 12 week scan.
Booking in advance allows you to plan and prepare for your baby's arrival. You can discuss your preferences with your photographer, including the type of photoshoot you want, any particular poses or props etc. This ensures that your photographer can tailor the session to you and your family.
There is a lot going on, tick this thing off your list.
Also, booking early means that you are less likely to feel rushed or stressed. With a new baby on the way, there will already be a lot going on, so booking in advance takes one less thing off your to-do list. You can relax knowing that everything is taken care of, and you can look forward to your photoshoot with excitement.
So how does it work?
We book you in for your Due Month
Babies do like to arrive in their own time! Some early, some late but exactly when it’s right for them (that’s what I tell myself with both my babies being 12 and 13 days late!) Due to this, we book you in for your due month and we just keep in contact. This is why we only take a limited number of sessions each month, to make sure everyone can be accommodated.
So once your little one arrives (no joke, we have had Whatsapp messages from the delivery room as well as when mums have been in labour letting us know how many centimetres!), once you are home, pop us a message that little one has arrived and we will get you booked right in the next available spot. It is best to let us know right away, even if you want to book for a week or so’s time - it gives everyone more options, especially if you have partners work to plan around.
What if baby is early?
Dont worry, we actually still book your newborn shoot based on your due date. This allows little one to build up strength, it is much safer for your little one and give you more time to get settled if little one needs a bit more support or doctors check ups.
When in the best time for the newborn photoshoot?
We recommend anytime in the first 21 days is the real sweet spot (from our experience!) Thats not to say that we cannot get beautiful images of little one after this, our photographers are real magicians, but this is ideal if you can.
What if there are complications or we need to stay in hospital?
Please don’t worry at all, these things happen, its your’s and baby’s wellbeing which is the most important thing. We can still capture beautiful images once you are ready. With everything that happened over Covid, we have such a wide variety of ages coming into the studio our team became very experienced with all ages. We just say, that baby may just be a little less sleepy and curled up after those first weeks, they like to start stretching out!
What ever happens, we will be able to create beautiful images of your little one and as a family.
We can't wait to meet them once they arrive!
